              The Norfolk Sheriff’s Office Policies and Procedures assures
              the processing of inmate grievances.

              All grievances are subject to review by the Sheriff.

              Inmates are provided a copy of the Norfolk City Jail "Resident Handbook"
              which is a reference guide to facility rules, regulations, services and
              programs available during incarceration.

              The Grievance Coordinator provides an expeditious response
              and fair resolution to inmate complaints.

              The Grievance Coordinator shall mediate with staff and inmates,
              and if necessary, investigate, interview and review in order to resolve
              inmate grievances.

              The Grievance Coordinator also serves as Norfolk Sheriff’s Office liaison
              to the Citizen's Advisory Council, which encourages voluntary community
              involvement and participation in operations, services and programs of the
              Norfolk Sheriff’s Office and the Norfolk City Jail.
